Interactive Brokers launches Ethereum staking for eligible clients
Interactive Brokers Group (NASDAQ: IBKR) has launched a cryptocurrency staking service for eligible clients, initially supporting Ethereum, according to a press release from the Greenwich, Conn.-based broker.
Staking services are provided by Zerohash. Eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients can submit stake or unstake requests through a Staking Dashboard in the company's Client Portal and monitor pending activity. Rewards, when earned, are credited as additional staked cryptocurrency and can compound while the position remains staked.
"Similar to how our Stock Yield Enhancement Program allows clients to earn additional income on shares they own, staking gives clients an opportunity to earn rewards on the cryptocurrency they own," said Milan Galik, chief executive officer of Interactive Brokers.

The broker states it charges crypto commissions starting at 0.12% to 0.18% of trade value, with a $1.75 minimum per order and no added spreads, markups, or custody fees. The company claims this is up to 85% less than competitors, though this claim has not been independently verified.
Interactive Brokers currently supports trading in 20 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Dogecoin. The platform also supports stablecoin funding via USDC, RLUSD, and PYUSD, and allows eligible clients to transfer supported digital assets to and from both custodial and non-custodial wallets.
Availability of products varies by Interactive Brokers affiliate and client country of residence.
