Workday to launch reusable job application profile in 2027

October 13, 2026 9:01 AM

Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ: WDAY) announced a new feature called Workday Candidate Profile that allows job seekers to save their personal and professional information once and reuse it when applying to positions at companies that use Workday's recruiting platform.

The feature, announced at the Workday Rising 2026 conference in Las Vegas, is expected to be generally available to Workday Recruiting customers in early 2027.

According to the company, roughly 80% of standard application fields — including contact information, work history, education, and skills — will be pre-filled for returning users. Workday said the feature is expected to reduce application time by approximately 40% compared to completing the same form manually. Job seekers will access their saved profile using an email address and a one-time code, without needing to create a new password for each employer.

Workday cited data indicating that 60% of candidates abandon job applications due to length and friction. The company said the feature does not rank, recommend, or reject candidates, and that job seekers control what information each employer sees.

"Filling out an application should be simple and seamless and nobody should have to retype their resume every time they apply for a job," said Gerrit Kazmaier, president of product and technology at Workday.

Employers using the feature will not be required to modify their existing career sites, screening questions, or recruiting workflows, according to the company.

The feature will also be accessible via mobile devices, which Workday noted is relevant for hourly and frontline workers who frequently apply for jobs using smartphones.
