DigitalOcean and Bright Data partner on web data for AI agents

October 13, 2026 9:01 AM

DigitalOcean (NYSE: DOCN) and Bright Data announced a partnership that integrates Bright Data's web data tools into DigitalOcean's Managed Agents platform, available through Action Gateway.

The integration allows agents built on DigitalOcean to search the live web, access sites that restrict automated traffic, and extract structured data without requiring a separate Bright Data account or API key. The tools are accessible during the DigitalOcean Managed Agents public preview.

"Agents need governed access to a broad set of data to do real work," said Paddy Srinivasan, CEO of DigitalOcean. "Bright Data brings search and retrieval into DigitalOcean's AI-Native Cloud, which handles all the key resources an agent needs, including the runtime, session state, inference, and tool access, so developers can focus on the agent's task instead of its infrastructure."

Or Lenchner, CEO of Bright Data, said the company plans to build and deploy its own agents on DigitalOcean's infrastructure. "We are bringing real-time web data at scale to every team building agents on DigitalOcean, so their agents can act on what is happening across the open web," he said.

According to the companies, the partnership is planned to expand in two additional phases. Bright Data's datasets will be integrated into DigitalOcean's Agent Data Services, enabling agents to query public web data alongside a customer's own data. Bright Data also plans to deploy agents on DigitalOcean Managed Agents, offering customers a managed path from web data access to a running agent.

The announcement was made at The Open Intelligence Summit. DigitalOcean noted in its press release that Managed Agents is currently offered as a public preview and does not guarantee performance at production-level workloads.
