Raytheon wins $729M in counter-drone deals for U.S., Qatar, Jordan
Raytheon, a business unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has been awarded $729 million in contracts to deliver components of the Low, slow, small, unmanned aircraft Integrated Defeat System, known as LIDS, to the U.S. Army, Qatar, and Jordan.
The contracts mark the first international sales of two Raytheon products: the Ku-band Radio Frequency Sensor (KuRFS) and the Coyote effector. KuRFS provides 360-degree threat detection, while Coyote is designed to defeat individual drones and drone swarms using kinetic and non-kinetic methods. The contract covers both fixed-site and mobile LIDS configurations.
Tom Laliberty, president of Land and Air Defense Systems at Raytheon, said the company is "accelerating production of the Coyote family of effectors" to meet what he described as a surge in global demand.

RTX said it is investing to expand production capacity and integrate new technologies into the Coyote interceptor, including faster launch times, higher speeds, and greater range at higher altitudes.
