SolarEdge displays AI data center power technology at OCP Summit

October 13, 2026 7:32 AM

SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEDG) is featuring its medium-voltage-to-800 VDC AI Factory Power Technology at the Nvidia AI Factory MGX Ecosystem Showcase during the 2026 Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit, held October 12–15 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

The showcase includes a SolarEdge solid-state transformer cell and a 3D-printed model of the company's containerized data center power architecture. SolarEdge said its three-phase MVAC-to-800 VDC conversion stage is operating under load in its engineering labs, with system-level validation of the full power path underway.

The company is developing a full DC powertrain covering medium-voltage conversion, 800 VDC distribution, protection and monitoring to the rack power input. The architecture incorporates branch-level sensing and interruption, insulation monitoring and system-level monitoring.

In September, SolarEdge published a white paper titled "800 VDC Protection and Grounding for AI Data Centers," developed in collaboration with Nvidia. The paper addresses grounding, fault behavior and protection coordination and is described as a technology-neutral framework for industry evaluation.

"AI infrastructure is forcing the industry to rethink how power moves from the grid all the way to the rack," said Shuki Nir, Chief Executive Officer of SolarEdge. "Our work on MVAC-to-800 VDC power architecture is about applying SolarEdge's deep experience in DC power electronics and protection to that challenge, while working with NVIDIA and the broader ecosystem to help establish the common interfaces and protection principles needed to deploy these architectures at scale."

The OCP showcase follows collaboration between SolarEdge and Nvidia on protection and grounding considerations for 800 VDC AI data center architectures. The work is said to align with broader OCP efforts to establish common infrastructure for power-dense AI systems, including evaluation of high-voltage DC architectures and solid-state transformers.
