Flex launches modular AI data center units ahead of planned spinoff

October 12, 2026 9:06 AM

Flex (NASDAQ: FLEX) announced an expanded portfolio of prefabricated modular data center solutions on Oct. 12, 2026, designed to reduce AI infrastructure deployment timelines by up to 50% compared with traditional construction methods, according to a company press release.

The new AI Modules integrate 800 VDC power conversion, advanced liquid cooling distribution units, and high-density IT racks into factory-built systems. By assembling and testing these systems in a factory setting in parallel with site development, Flex says customers can bring AI capacity online faster and with less on-site complexity.

"Meeting the demands of AI infrastructure at scale requires more than incremental improvements. It requires rethinking how power, compute and cooling work together as a system," said Chris Butler, expected Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at Axiom Solutions International.

The modular portfolio is part of Flex's Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment, which the company plans to spin off into Axiom Solutions International, Inc. (Axiom), an independent publicly traded company, in the first quarter of calendar 2027. Flex filed a proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 5, 2026, seeking shareholder approval for the spinoff. Axiom has also filed a registration statement on Form 10 with the SEC.

Flex currently operates more than three million square feet of dedicated data center infrastructure manufacturing capacity in the U.S. and is building prefabricated modular solutions for hyperscale customers across its global footprint.
