AMD unveils Helion agentic AI rack with partner support
AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) introduced the AMD Helion agentic AI rack on Oct. 12, 2026, an open blueprint for agentic AI infrastructure based on an Open Compute Project spec-design and powered by AMD compute.
AMD Helion is available in flexible configurations, including liquid- and air-cooled versions. Two primary configurations are outlined: a CPU-only rack powered by 6th Gen AMD EPYC processors supporting up to 32,768 CPU cores, aimed at hyperscale deployments; and an all-in-one rack combining AMD EPYC CPU nodes, AMD Instinct MI350P GPU nodes and general-purpose compute, targeting enterprise agentic AI deployments.
The platform includes an integrated token router that directs model calls across frontier and open-source models, and is built on open hardware and software.

"Agentic AI is not a single workload. It spans personal agents, enterprise applications, code execution and complex workflows, each with different compute requirements," said Dan McNamara, senior vice president and general manager, Compute and Enterprise AI, AMD.
AMD said it plans to contribute the Helion specification to the Open Compute Project for broader community development. Rack configurations are under development with ecosystem partners and are planned to be available in November 2026.
Partners supporting the platform include Cisco, Dell Technologies, Hon Hai Technology Group, HPE, Lenovo, QCT, Supermicro, and Wiwynn.
