Corebridge Financial launches new index annuity strategy
Corebridge Financial (NYSE: CRBG) has introduced Progressive Trigger, an index annuity interest-crediting strategy available exclusively through its Power Select Builder index annuity product, according to a company statement.
The strategy includes a built-in Memory feature that carries forward eligible interest percentages during periods of negative index performance. A single starting index value is held in place for up to five years, with the index evaluated annually. If the index meets or exceeds the starting value at a contract anniversary, the current year's percentage is combined with any percentages retained in Memory to determine the interest credit.
If the trigger condition is never met during the five-year term, the principal remains protected from market losses, but no interest is credited and the percentages retained in Memory expire.
Bryan Pinsky, President of Individual Retirement and Life Insurance at Corebridge Financial, said the strategy is designed to turn negative years into future potential and help customers benefit when market recoveries take time.

Power Select Builder is distributed by Market Synergy Group (MSG). Lance Sparks, President of Market Synergy Group, said Progressive Trigger draws inspiration from autocallable structured notes by applying a multi-year perspective to market performance rather than viewing each year in isolation.
The Power Select Builder annuity is issued by American General Life Insurance Company, a Corebridge Financial member company. The product is not available in New York or Idaho.
Corebridge Financial reported more than $390 billion in assets under management and administration as of June 30, 2026.
