Red Cat launches unified aerial division and new VTOL drone at AUSA
Red Cat Holdings (Nasdaq: RCAT) launched Red Cat Aerial, a unified division consolidating its aerial systems operations, and unveiled the TRICHON™ drone at the Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition (AUSA 2026) in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 12.
Red Cat Aerial combines the teams and technology previously operating under Teal Drones and FlightWave Aerospace into a single organization. The division's portfolio includes Black Widow™, FANG™, Edge 130, and Hellcat™, now joined by TRICHON as the first platform developed under the new structure.
TRICHON is a hand-launched, long-endurance vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) tricopter designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The company states the platform is built on an electronics core already in use by U.S. and allied operators and is intended to be fielded in larger quantities at a lower cost than high-performance alternatives.

Mitch McDonald, CEO of Red Cat Aerial, said the consolidation is intended to accelerate platform development. "As one organization, we can build on the strengths across our portfolio and accelerate the development of purpose-built systems for evolving mission requirements," he said.
Red Cat Aerial and TRICHON are on display at Booth 353 in Hall ABC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center through Oct. 14. Red Cat's maritime division, Blue Ops, is also present at AUSA, conducting on-water demonstrations of its Variant 7 uncrewed surface vessel on the Potomac River during the event.
