United Airlines adds TBS for live MLB playoff streaming on flights
United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) has added TBS to its onboard live streaming lineup, allowing passengers on select Starlink-equipped flights to watch nearly every MLB postseason game, including the ALCS, NLCS, and World Series.
The live streaming service, provided through a partnership with DISH, is available on more than 200 aircraft operating roughly 900 flights per day. The channel lineup also includes ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2, NFL Network, and TNF on Prime Video. Since the service launched last month, passengers have watched more than 170,000 hours of live television, according to a company press release.
In September, more than 5.4 million United passengers — approximately one-third of the airline's monthly customers — flew on Starlink-equipped planes. The airline reported that passenger satisfaction scores on those flights were more than 40 points higher than on planes with other Wi-Fi service.

Starlink connectivity is available at no charge to MileagePlus members in all cabin classes. United expects to complete Starlink installations across its fleet by 2027, with up to 1,000 aircraft expected to have seatback screens by the end of that year.
United is also offering a status match for Delta and American Airlines loyalty members who meet a spend requirement on United flights purchased and flown within a 90-day window. Qualifying members receive United Premier status benefits through Jan. 31, 2028.
