Rubrik expands Project Hourglass with code security tool in preview
Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK) announced the expansion of its Project Hourglass partner alliance on October 9, 2026, adding AHEAD, Trace3, and World Wide Technology (WWT) as new members, alongside the introduction of Rubrik Code Guardian, a code repository security tool currently in private preview.
Project Hourglass now includes Cognizant, Deloitte, LTM, HCLTech, NTT DATA, and Wipro as existing partners. The program originally launched to operationalize Rubrik Agent Cloud for Anthropic's Claude Code, providing runtime behavioral guardrails, prompt context protection, and an Agent Rewind feature.
Rubrik Code Guardian uses Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5 model through a security harness to evaluate cloned, air-gapped copies of customer code repositories against multi-step threat scenarios. The tool is designed to identify chained vulnerabilities, prioritize findings by business criticality, and support codebase recovery.

Rubrik cited its own Zero Labs research, which found that 86% of cybersecurity and IT leaders expect AI agent proliferation to outpace their organization's security controls within the next year.
"Engineering teams are turning to AI models to accelerate software delivery, but speed cannot compromise security or architectural integrity," said Alok Agrawal, Chief Solutions Officer at Rubrik.
Project Hourglass partners receive joint go-to-market resources, technical certification tracks, and direct engineering access. Rubrik Code Guardian is in private preview and accepting select design partners. The company noted the product is provided "as is," is not generally available, and may change or be discontinued.
