Investing.com -- Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) shares rose more than 1% after President Donald Trump’s latest financial disclosure revealed he had purchased as much as $25 million of the stock, before later paring the gain. CNBC was first to highlight the size of Trump’s Meta investment.

Trump disclosed more than 500 securities transactions in August, including the Meta purchase and a multimillion-dollar investment in SpaceX debt, according to a newly released 18-page financial disclosure.

The 517 purchases and sales had a combined reported value of between $74.3 million and $273.3 million. Because federal rules require assets to be reported in value ranges rather than exact amounts, purchases totaled at least $44.2 million and sales at least $30.1 million, according to a CNBC analysis.

August’s trading activity was down from June and July, when Trump disclosed more than 1,000 transactions in each month.

The largest transaction in the August filing was a purchase of Meta shares on Aug. 21 valued at between $5 million and $25 million.

The Meta purchase was part of a broader portfolio reshuffling that day. Trump also reported buying between $1 million and $5 million each of AT&T, ConocoPhillips, Abbott Laboratories, Netflix and Chevron.

On the sell side, he reported divesting between $1 million and $5 million each of Advanced Micro Devices and Church & Dwight, along with smaller positions in Boeing, Home Depot, T-Mobile, Datadog, Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks and Nvidia.

The disclosure also showed a new investment in SpaceX. Trump’s accounts purchased between $1 million and $5 million of senior unsecured notes issued by Elon Musk’s rocket and satellite company. The debt carries a 5.35% interest rate and matures in July 2031.

Trump had already disclosed smaller SpaceX investments earlier in the summer. He reported purchasing between $15,001 and $50,000 of SpaceX shares in both June and July, while reporting a July sale of between $1,001 and $15,000.
