Zeta Global launches Athena Inference Model with Fireworks AI

October 8, 2026 9:12 AM

Zeta Global (NYSE: ZETA) announced a collaboration with Fireworks to develop the Athena Inference Model (AIM), a collection of specialized open-weight models built on Nvidia Nemotron open models and fine-tuned using Fireworks infrastructure.

AIM is designed to power specific use cases within AthenaOS, Zeta's enterprise intelligence operating system. According to the company, the model is intended to work alongside existing predictive models to deliver recommendations by connecting enterprise data with Zeta's proprietary intelligence.

The model is built to support enterprise data-control and sovereignty requirements, allowing customers to apply first-party data in a governed environment. Zeta said AIM achieved accuracy on par with leading industry models in early testing.

AIM is designed to handle specialized tasks including interpreting domain language, following brand voice, and meeting formatting and output requirements.

"Models are increasingly available, but context is owned," said David A. Steinberg, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Zeta Global. "AIM helps organizations harness their most strategic assets securely and effectively, connecting their data and context to AI in a way that improves how decisions are made and work gets done."

Benny Chen, Co-Founder at Fireworks, said the collaboration combines Zeta's proprietary intelligence with Fireworks' infrastructure for training, tuning, and serving open models.

AIM is currently in development and is expected to be included in an AthenaOS beta release later this year.
