HPE launches four ProLiant Gen13 servers with AMD EPYC processors

October 7, 2026 9:01 AM

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) announced four new HPE ProLiant Gen13 servers powered by 6th Generation AMD EPYC processors, targeting enterprise AI inference, analytics, and virtualization workloads.

The lineup includes the HPE ProLiant DL585a Gen13, a high-density platform supporting up to eight double-wide PCIe GPUs and PCIe Gen6 connectivity, and the HPE ProLiant DL525 Gen13, a 1U single-socket system with up to 256 cores and support for DDR5 and MRDIMM memory. HPE also introduced the ProLiant XD245, a four-node direct liquid-cooled server, and the ProLiant XD285, a two-node air-cooled system, both built on Open Compute Project standards for high rack density.

The servers include several security features that HPE claims are industry firsts, including automatic self-encrypting drive capabilities active from first boot, multi-person authorization requiring two users to approve high-impact actions, and expanded post-quantum cryptography readiness extending beyond firmware to server communication paths.

The systems also integrate HPE Integrated Lights-Out 8 (iLO 8) and HPE Compute Ops Management. A commissioned Forrester Consulting study conducted on behalf of HPE found that organizations using HPE Compute Ops Management spent 50% less time managing servers and generated 209% ROI over three years.

Availability is staggered: the ProLiant DL525 Gen13 is expected later in 2026, the DL585a Gen13 in early 2027, and the XD245 and XD285 in 2027. The servers will be accessible through HPE Financial Services' 90/9 Advantage program, which offers no payments for 90 days followed by nine months at 1% per month.
