OneSpan adds AI and identity features to its eSignature platform

October 7, 2026 8:03 AM

OneSpan Inc. (NASDAQ: OSPN) announced an expansion of its OneSpan Sign platform, adding capabilities intended to extend the product's function beyond electronic signature capture to broader agreement workflow management, according to a company press release.

The new and planned features fall into three categories: accelerating agreement completion, strengthening identity and document assurance, and connecting completed agreements to other business systems. Specific additions include AI-assisted field placement, AI-generated signer summaries, automated document validation checks, biometric identity verification, support for digital credentials and wallets, and attachment tampering detection.

The company also announced planned support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), which would allow AI agents to interact with agreement workflows and data.

"The value of an agreement isn't the signature itself. It's the business outcome the agreement enables," said Ashish Jain, Chief Technology Officer at OneSpan. "We are expanding OneSpan Sign around that outcome, making agreements easier to complete, applying intelligence where it can remove unnecessary work, and strengthening assurance where the transaction requires it."

The announcement cited research from IDC analyst Andrew Gens, who said organizations are increasingly evaluating digital agreement platforms based on business outcomes rather than signature capture alone.

OneSpan states it processes more than 100 million eSignature transactions annually. The company plans to host a webinar on October 14, 2026, to discuss the platform changes.
