AVerMedia and Stereolabs announce Nvidia JetPack 7.2 support
AVerMedia Technologies and Stereolabs, a subsidiary of Ouster, Inc. (Nasdaq: OUST), announced support for Nvidia JetPack 7.2 across Stereolabs' ZED X GMSL cameras and AVerMedia's Nvidia Jetson carrier boards, according to a joint press release.
The integration combines AVerMedia's carrier-board and Board Support Package engineering with Stereolabs' unified ZED X driver architecture. Under this arrangement, AVerMedia handles hardware-specific device tree configuration and driver generation, while Stereolabs focuses on camera firmware, image signal processor performance, and ZED SDK development. The companies said this parallel workflow reduces validation cycles and gives customers more control over product schedules.
JetPack 7.2 supports all Stereolabs cameras across AVerMedia's Jetson carrier-board portfolio, including Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor platforms. The release also introduces Jetson agent skills designed to optimize memory usage across the software stack, including bootloader carveouts, kernel memory reservations, and inference memory allocation. The companies said these optimizations free up memory for vision processing and AI workloads.
Additional features include reproducible Debian packages for driver traceability and official Yocto support for producing reproducible software images on Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor platforms.

"By anchoring the platform-specific integration work with AVerMedia, where we're doubling down on both companies' hardware expertise, both teams can develop in parallel and respond to customer requirements more quickly," said Ihsane Debbache, VP of Engineering at Stereolabs.
"Customers need both faster integration and more efficient use of their computing resources," said Alex Liu, Vice President of AVerMedia. "By combining Stereolabs' vision technology and AVerMedia's BSP and hardware engineering expertise, we can help customers reduce integration risk, make better use of available Jetson memory, and deploy more capable AI vision systems faster."
Transition support for Nvidia JetPack 7.2 will be available through AVerMedia's technical support channel.
