Kura Sushi USA relaunches rewards app with three-tier system

October 6, 2026 11:19 AM

Kura Sushi USA, Inc. has launched a redesigned version of its Kura Sushi Rewards mobile app, replacing its previous loyalty program with a three-tier membership structure and updated interface, according to a company statement.

The new program organizes members into tiers named after tuna species. The entry-level Yellowfin Tuna tier is free to join and includes a birthday dessert. The mid-level Bigeye Tuna tier requires 20,000 Status Qualifying Points earned in a calendar year and offers 11 points per $1 spent, plus a birthday gift that includes a dessert and 500 bonus points. The top Bluefin Tuna tier requires 30,000 Status Qualifying Points annually and offers 12 points per $1 spent, along with a birthday gift that includes a dessert and 1,000 bonus points.

The company is also replacing its previous 300 bonus points welcome offer for new members with a free soft drink reward upon sign-up, effective Oct. 6, 2026.

To mark the relaunch, Kura Sushi is offering triple points on qualifying purchases for both new and existing rewards members from Oct. 6–8, 2026. During that period, Yellowfin members earn 30 points per $1, Bigeye members earn 33 points per $1, and Bluefin members earn 36 points per $1.

"We reshaped our rewards program with the main intention of putting the power of choice in our guests' hands," said Charlie Nguyen, Digital Marketing & Strategy Manager at Kura Sushi USA.

Kura Sushi USA operates more than 90 revolving sushi restaurant locations across 24 states and Washington, D.C. The company is a subsidiary of Japan-based Kura Sushi, Inc.
