MicroVision and Robinson Unmanned sign lidar integration agreement

October 6, 2026 9:25 AM

MicroVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) and Robinson Unmanned have entered into a joint marketing and demonstration agreement to integrate MicroVision's MOVIA Air Plus lidar technology with Robinson Unmanned's SPIRIT Group 1 unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for real-time aerial mapping applications.

The agreement calls for the companies to conduct joint demonstrations and customer evaluations of the combined system. The integrated solution targets commercial, civil, public safety, and defense markets.

MicroVision's MOVIA Air Plus combines lidar hardware with perception and mapping capabilities designed for airborne use, generating spatial data in real time without requiring GPS access. Robinson Unmanned's SPIRIT platform is an NDAA-compliant, Blue UAS-cleared Group 1 aircraft built with a modular open systems architecture that allows integration of additional sensing and communications technology.

"Integrating MOVIA Air Plus with their platform demonstrates how our lidar technology can enable real-time mapping and situational awareness from the air," said Glen DeVos, Chief Executive Officer of MicroVision.

"MOVIA Air Plus brings compact, real-time perception and mapping capability that aligns well with SPIRIT's modular architecture," said Paul Fermo, President of Robinson Unmanned.

The integrated system is scheduled to be showcased at the Association of the U.S. Army's 2026 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., October 12–14, 2026. Robinson Unmanned is the UAS business unit of Robinson Helicopter Company.
