October 6, 2026 9:15 AM

Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI) has announced a partnership with Shiny Box Interactive, a Houston-based software developer, to bring military medical training and remote-mentoring software to the Vuzix Ultralite Pro OEM smart glasses platform.

Shiny Box previously developed training and tele-mentoring solutions using Vuzix M400, M4000 and Blade 2 smart glasses for U.S. military operational training exercises. Those applications covered CBRNE, medical, surgical and critical-care training, connecting field medical personnel with remote subject-matter experts.

The company is now adapting its platform for the Ultralite Pro, a waveguide-based, see-through smart glasses platform. The Shiny Box software is designed to support hands-free remote mentoring and real-time guidance across multiple communications environments, including Starlink satellite, cellular broadband, local-area networks and mobile ad hoc networks. Stated use cases include tactical medical training, casualty-care support and evacuation coordination.

"When military medical personnel are operating in remote, austere or contested environments, access to expertise can be critical," said Todd Daniel, Managing Partner at Shiny Box Interactive. "Bringing our platform to Ultralite Pro is an important next step, allowing us to pursue these capabilities in a lighter, more wearable see-through smart glasses platform for demanding military and tactical environments."

Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, said the partnership demonstrates how the company's technology can evolve alongside specialized defense applications. The information is based on a press release issued by Vuzix Corporation.
