Certivo names ex-GE Vice Chairman Jeff Bornstein to its board
Certivo, a Seattle-based AI compliance platform for manufacturers, has appointed Jeffrey S. Bornstein to its Board of Directors, according to a company statement.
Bornstein served as Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of General Electric from 2013 to 2017 and spent 28 years in senior finance roles across GE's industrial and financial businesses. During his tenure as GE's CFO, he oversaw major portfolio transactions, including the sale of GE Appliances, the merger of GE Oil & Gas with Baker Hughes, the divestiture of more than $300 billion in GE Capital assets, and the acquisition of Alstom's power and grid businesses.
He also served 12 years as Senior Vice President and CFO of GE Capital, guiding that business through the 2008 financial crisis and the subsequent oversight of the Federal Reserve as its primary regulator.
Since leaving GE, Bornstein has founded Whipstick Ventures and serves as co-managing partner, as well as managing partner of Generation Capital Partners. He has previously served on the boards of Eos Energy Enterprises (NASDAQ: EOSE) and AlloVir, where he chaired the Audit Committee.

"Every manufacturer I've worked with treats compliance as a tax on getting product out the door, and most of them are managing it in silos that no one can see across," Bornstein said in the statement.
Certivo CEO Kunal Chopra said Bornstein's experience running finance for large industrial supply chains under regulatory scrutiny was relevant to the board role.
Certivo's platform, called CORA, uses AI agents to collect supplier data, validate it, and maintain compliance documentation across regulations including REACH, RoHS, PFAS, and Proposition 65.
