Safe Harbor reports Q3 2026 deposit growth of 7.4% year-over-year
SHF Holdings, Inc., operating as Safe Harbor (NASDAQ: SHFS), reported preliminary deposit data for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, showing its trailing 14-day average deposit balance reached approximately $119.3 million, up 7.4% from approximately $111.1 million recorded in the same period a year earlier.
The figure represents the company's highest trailing 14-day average since April 2024 and is approximately 25% above the May 2025 low of approximately $95.3 million. Deposits rose 9.6% sequentially from approximately $108.9 million as of June 30, 2026, more than double the 4.1% sequential increase recorded in the second quarter.
Safe Harbor also estimates that the Federal Reserve's 25-basis-point increase in the federal funds target rate on September 16, 2026, will contribute approximately $150,000 in incremental annualized investment income, based on client deposit and loan balances as of September 30, 2026. The company noted that actual results will depend on future balances, partner institution arrangements, and any subsequent interest rate changes.

CEO Terry Mendez attributed the deposit growth to the company's broader platform strategy. "As we broaden our platform across banking, lending, business solutions and institutional infrastructure, we are deepening client relationships and expanding the opportunity to capture more of their financial activity," Mendez said.
Safe Harbor serves the regulated cannabis and hemp industries through a network of partner financial institutions. The company noted that client deposits are held by and are liabilities of those partner institutions, not of Safe Harbor itself, and are not reflected on its consolidated balance sheet.
The preliminary data has not been audited or reviewed by the company's independent accounting firm and remains subject to completion of normal quarter-end closing procedures. Safe Harbor plans to release full third quarter 2026 financial results at a later date.
