Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline oil flow reaches 5.8 million bpd
Investing.com -- Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline is operating with oil flows reaching 5.8 million barrels per day as of Tuesday morning, Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said.
The pipeline, which transports crude to the Red Sea export terminal at Yanbu, has not experienced any interruptions, a source said Monday. The statement came after media reports suggested a recent disruption amid ongoing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthis.
Saudi Arabia restarted the pipeline operations following drone attacks on September 11 that forced the kingdom to shut down the pipeline and halt crude loadings at Yanbu, three sources briefed on the matter said. The kingdom has attributed the attacks to Iraqi militias.

The pipeline has become increasingly important after the US-Israeli war on Iran disrupted oil flows from Saudi Arabia and neighboring Gulf states through the Strait of Hormuz. Riyadh has been using the East-West Pipeline to reroute approximately 4 million barrels per day to Yanbu, representing about 4% of global oil supply.
