VinFast signs deal to bring electric buses to U.S. market by 2028

October 6, 2026 6:21 AM

VinFast (NASDAQ: VFS) announced at the APTA 2026 TRANSform & EXPO in Chicago that it has signed an initial partnership agreement with NexMove to bring its electric buses to the U.S. market. Certified, homologated buses are expected to begin delivering to U.S. customers in the first quarter of 2028.

NexMove is a joint venture between Transportation Management Services (TMS) and Zeem Solutions. The company will offer VinFast electric buses as a bundled service that includes the vehicle, charging, maintenance, and operations under a single agreement. NexMove said it intends to offer a 97% uptime service level agreement to customers.

Ahead of certified deliveries, NexMove plans to place non-homologated demonstration units at Zeem's electric vehicle charging depots, allowing fleet operators and transit agencies to evaluate the buses before the 2028 delivery target.

Paul Gioupis, Founder and CEO of Zeem Solutions and Co-Founder of NexMove, said the companies are working toward U.S. manufacturing that meets Federal Transit Administration requirements so public transit agencies can deploy the buses.

VinFast currently operates approximately 2,000 electric buses in Vietnam. The company also announced plans to expand its electric bus business to Europe.

Brian Finnerty, CEO of VinFast North America, said in a statement that the partnership with NexMove is part of the company's long-term commitment to the U.S. market.

NexMove's parent companies bring relevant operational experience. TMS has more than 30 years in passenger transportation, having served approximately 140 million people across more than 5,500 events. Zeem Solutions has recorded more than 400,000 charging sessions at Los Angeles International Airport over three and a half years, with a claimed uptime of more than 98%.
