Adeia Inc. (Nasdaq: ADEA) has entered into a multi-year renewal of its intellectual property license agreement with Charter Communications, Inc., through its Spectrum brand, the company announced.

The renewed agreement covers Spectrum's license to Adeia's media IP portfolio across its pay-TV and other video services, and extends coverage to Spectrum's broadband and mobility businesses.

The relationship between Adeia and Spectrum, including predecessor companies, spans more than two decades, according to the press release.

"The agreement also extends coverage to Spectrum's broadband and mobility businesses, reflecting the growing relevance of our innovations as video, broadband and mobile services increasingly converge," said Dr. Mark Kokes, chief revenue officer of Adeia.

Adeia's media IP portfolio is licensed across media, entertainment, and connectivity markets, with the company stating its innovations are embedded in billions of devices worldwide across pay-TV, streaming, connected TV, broadband, and wireless platforms.
