DeWalt launches Tool Connect partner network for jobsite asset tracking
DeWalt, a brand of Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK), announced the launch of its Tool Connect Partner Network on Oct. 5, 2026, integrating three technology providers to expand jobsite asset tracking capabilities for construction professionals.
The network's inaugural partners are Geotab, Trackunit, and BoxLock. Geotab's fleet telematics hardware will detect and report the location of nearby DeWalt Tool Connect tools as they move across vehicle fleets. Trackunit's telematics platform for off-road equipment will enable connected machines to detect tools on and around heavy equipment. BoxLock's access control systems will log tool locations when tools are accessed or nearby secured storage units.
According to a study of the National Incident-Based Reporting System, U.S. construction site theft results in annual losses ranging between $300 million and $1 billion in stolen equipment, with recovery rates often below 25% and in some cases under 7%. Tool-specific losses are estimated at approximately $100 million annually.

The partner network builds on DeWalt's existing Tool Connect infrastructure, which includes the Tool Connect mobile app and the DeWalt Construction Asset Gateway (DCE082), a Bluetooth-enabled cellular gateway. Existing Tool Connect customers can activate partner integrations without additional hardware, according to the company's press release.
"The Tool Connect Partner Network solves this by turning the infrastructure customers already have — their fleet vehicles, their heavy equipment, their smart locks — into a tracking network for their DeWalt tools," said Eric Loeliger, Director of Product Management at DeWalt.
DeWalt said additional partners, including telematics providers and platforms spanning ERP and estimating workflows, are expected to join the network within the coming year.
