Leonardo DRS launches UK subsidiary with local radar manufacturing
Leonardo DRS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DRS) announced the establishment of DRS UK, a new subsidiary, along with the launch of local tactical radar production in the United Kingdom, according to a company statement dated Oct. 5, 2026.
The company opened a purpose-built production site in the UK to support British defense customers, industry partners, and system integrators. Leonardo DRS said the investment is intended to strengthen long-term support for UK programs and provide flexibility to meet operational requirements.
DRS tactical radars are designed to detect, track, and classify airborne and ground threats, including unmanned aircraft systems and rockets, artillery, and mortars. The radars are used in counter-UAS, air defense, force protection, and active protection system applications. The company said more than 10,000 radar panels have been deployed worldwide with the U.S. Armed Forces, NATO allies, and other international customers.

"Establishing DRS UK and launching a full local tactical radar capability, strengthens our ability to support customers and partners with the proximity, responsiveness and manufacturing capacity needed to meet evolving operational requirements," said John Baylouny, president and chief executive officer of Leonardo DRS.
Max Cohen, senior vice president and general manager overseeing the tactical radar portfolio, said the UK operation would create engineering and manufacturing positions and is intended to support future export activity across the UK and Europe.
Leonardo DRS described the UK facility as a strategic hub for its tactical radar business in the UK and Europe.
