Redwire wins solar array contract for Axiom Space's second module

October 5, 2026 4:00 AM

Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) has been awarded a contract by Axiom Space to develop and deliver two Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) wings for the second module of Axiom Station, a planned commercial space station in low-Earth orbit.

The contract follows a previously announced agreement under which Redwire is also building ROSA wings for Axiom Station's first module. The financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Axiom Station's first module is currently undergoing final assembly at Thales Alenia Space in Turin, Italy. After assembly, the module is scheduled to be transferred to Houston for integration and testing before moving to Kennedy Space Center in Florida for launch, which Axiom Space has planned for 2028. The second module is also preparing to undergo final assembly at Thales Alenia Space and is planned to launch less than a year after the first. Together, the two modules are intended to form a four crew-capable, free-flying space station.

"Redwire's Roll-Out Solar Array hardware is a crucial component necessary for Axiom Space to build a sustainable commercial presence in LEO," said Dr. Jonathan Cirtain, CEO and President of Axiom Space.

Mike Gold, President of Redwire Space, said the ROSA system has a "100-percent success rate in a wide variety of space environments," citing its use on the International Space Station.

According to a statement from Redwire, the company has more than 65 solar array wings delivered or in development across commercial and national security missions.
