Vera Therapeutics to present ORIGIN 3 trial data at ASN Kidney Week
Vera Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VERA) announced that final efficacy data from its ORIGIN 3 trial of TRUTAKNA (atacicept-vymj) in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) will be presented as a featured late-breaking oral presentation at the opening plenary session of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney Week 2026, scheduled for October 22–25 in Denver, Colorado.
The ORIGIN 3 presentation, abstract number TH-OR109, will be delivered by Jonathan Barratt, PhD, FRCP, Mayer Professor of Renal Medicine at the University of Leicester, on October 22 from 9:05 to 9:12 AM MDT. The data will also appear as a late-breaking research poster the same day.
In total, five Vera-sponsored abstracts will be presented at the conference. Interim results from adult IgAN and primary membranous nephropathy cohorts in PIONEER, a Phase 2 basket trial evaluating atacicept across multiple glomerular diseases, will be presented as a late-breaking oral on October 24 by Richard Lafayette, MD, FACP, of Stanford University Medical Center.

Additional poster presentations include data on the PIONEER trial's pediatric IgAN cohort, real-world evidence on IgAN disease progression in the United States, and the Aurora multi-site clinical implementation network for IgAN.
TRUTAKNA is approved under accelerated approval to reduce proteinuria in adults with primary IgAN at risk of disease progression. The FDA approval is contingent on verification of clinical benefit in a confirmatory trial, and it has not been established whether TRUTAKNA slows long-term kidney function decline.
Key safety considerations include an increased risk of infections, with infections reported in 32% of TRUTAKNA patients versus 28% on placebo in clinical trials. Local administration reactions occurred in 30% of TRUTAKNA patients compared with 5% on placebo. The drug is contraindicated in patients with serious hypersensitivity to atacicept-vymj or any of its excipients.
