DTE Energy finishes 100-megawatt Cold Creek Solar Park in Michigan
DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) has completed construction on the Cold Creek Solar Park, a 100-megawatt facility located near Coldwater, Michigan, according to a company press release.
The park is funded through Ford Motor Company's (NYSE: F) enrollment in DTE's MIGreenPower voluntary renewable energy program. Ford previously agreed to purchase up to 650 megawatts of renewable energy through the program. DTE says that by the end of 2027, every Ford vehicle manufactured in Michigan will be assembled using the equivalent of 100% carbon-free electricity.
"Cold Creek Solar Park is now delivering on the promise we made when we broke ground on this project — clean, reliable energy for our Michigan operations and for the communities where we build our vehicles," said Amir Mirshahi, director of Energy Infrastructure & Engineering at Ford.

Matt Paul, president and chief operating officer of DTE Electric, said the project reflects what is possible when customers and energy providers work together, adding that MIGreenPower helps companies like Ford achieve sustainability goals "while building the renewable energy infrastructure that will power generations to come."
DTE currently operates 20 wind parks and 36 solar parks across Michigan, which the company says collectively generate enough clean energy to power nearly one million homes. The Cold Creek project is part of DTE's broader effort to meet Michigan's target of 60% renewable energy by 2035 and the company's own net-zero carbon emissions goal.
