Kodiak AI selects AWS as cloud provider for autonomous trucking

October 1, 2026 9:01 AM

Kodiak AI, Inc. (Nasdaq: KDK) has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its primary cloud provider to support AI development and safety simulations for its autonomous trucking technology, according to a press release from the company.

The arrangement covers cloud-based simulation, AI model training, and data storage tied to Kodiak's autonomous driving system, known as the Kodiak Driver. AWS infrastructure also supports BreakPoint, Kodiak's in-house safety validation tool, which injects simulated errors into the autonomy system to identify potential edge cases that could lead to collisions.

"AWS cloud services enhance Kodiak's ability to launch and scale our driverless operations safely and reliably," said Don Burnette, Founder and CEO of Kodiak. "AWS is the proven leader in cloud compute and storage, and exactly the partner we need to scale our in-house simulation program, train our AI models, run our customer-facing ops center software, and store data critical to our operations."

AWS also provides GPU compute capacity for refining the AI models that power the Kodiak Driver. Jason Bennett, VP and Global Head of Startups and Venture Capital at AWS, said the collaboration gives Kodiak "the scalable cloud infrastructure to run millions of simulated driving scenarios, train AI models, and store the critical data behind real-world autonomous operations."

Kodiak said it plans to launch driverless truck service on public highways in Texas later in 2026. The company also said the cloud infrastructure is intended to support future expansion across the United States.
