Kyndryl (NYSE: KD) opened its first U.S. AI Innovation Lab in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to a company statement released Oct. 1, 2026. The facility is located in Frisco, Texas.

The lab is expected to create up to 300 jobs in AI, technology consulting and design engineering over the next four years. It joins existing Kyndryl lab locations in the United Kingdom and Luxembourg.

The facility will use a four-phase approach — customer immersion, co-design, build and roadmap — combining the company's Agentic AI Framework with consulting, engineering and infrastructure services. The lab aims to help customers move from exploratory AI use cases to working prototypes.

The lab will also house a team dedicated to Kyndryl's department of motor vehicles solutions, supporting motor vehicle agencies across the U.S., and will feature a Cyber Defense Operations Center capability focused on network and security operations.

On the workforce side, Kyndryl is partnering with NPower, Dallas AI and Tech Titans to expand access to AI and technology skills in the region. Kyndryl is described as an inaugural supporter of NPower's AI training program, which covers areas such as prompt engineering and automation.

"The future of AI will be built through collaboration, and our AI Innovation Lab in Dallas brings customers together with Kyndryl experts to unlock the full value of AI while strengthening America's innovation ecosystem," said Jamie Rutledge, President, Kyndryl U.S.

Kyndryl's own modernization research found that 34% of organizations are modernizing to enable AI capabilities, compared with 29% driven by cost reduction.
