Sight Sciences launches OMNI Ultra glaucoma surgical system

October 1, 2026 7:06 AM

Sight Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: SGHT) announced the commercial availability of the OMNI Ultra Surgical System, a next-generation glaucoma device, ahead of its debut at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, scheduled for October 9–12.

The OMNI Ultra is a handheld, single-use device indicated for canaloplasty followed by trabeculotomy to reduce intraocular pressure in adult patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. The device is designed to address all three known areas of resistance within the conventional aqueous outflow pathway: the trabecular meshwork, Schlemm's canal, and the collector channels, through a single clear corneal microincision without leaving an implant.

Key features of the system include single-pass canaloplasty, which accesses the full circumference of Schlemm's canal in one pass, and TruSync Plus technology, which provides automatic viscodilation of Schlemm's canal during both advancement and retraction of the microcatheter. The device also features enhanced catheter visualization. It can be used as a standalone procedure or combined with cataract surgery.

"The OMNI Ultra is the latest example of this commitment," said Dr. Zarmeena Vendal, a cataract and glaucoma surgeon and pre-launch user of the device. "I have relied on the OMNI Surgical System for 8 years now and can still appreciate how OMNI Ultra builds on a proven technology platform with even more versatility and procedural flexibility."

Paul Badawi, CEO and co-founder of Sight Sciences, said the product was developed through direct collaboration with surgeon customers and reflects the company's focus on its implant-free, interventional glaucoma platform.

Sight Sciences also announced it will preview the Clearance Assistant Plus, a dual-action tool for meibomian gland expression and eyelid debridement for use with its TearCare System, at the same meeting.

According to a press release, the company's prior OMNI platform received its expanded FDA glaucoma clearance in 2021.
