Airbus Defence and Space acquires French cybersecurity firm Quarkslab

October 1, 2026 5:55 AM

Airbus Defence and Space has completed the acquisition of Quarkslab, a French cybersecurity company, following regulatory approvals, according to a press release from Airbus Group (OTC: EADSY).

Founded in 2011, Quarkslab employs approximately 100 people, primarily in Paris and Rennes. The company has been backed by Tikehau Capital since 2020 and provides cybersecurity solutions for governments and commercial clients. Its flagship product, QShield, is designed to protect software against AI threats and prevent reverse-engineering of code and edge components, with applications in the defence and aerospace sectors.

François Lombard, Head of Connected Intelligence at Airbus Defence and Space, said the acquisition "strengthens our ability to build the digital shield required to help keep our home nations and allies ahead in the cybersecurity domain."

Quarkslab was already an Airbus supplier and partner prior to the transaction. The company's in-house QLab team bridges academic research and practical cybersecurity application.

The deal follows Airbus Defence and Space's acquisition of Infodas in Germany in 2024 and Ultra Cyber Ltd in the United Kingdom in March 2026. Airbus Defence and Space currently operates cybersecurity operations across France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Finland.
