Vicor raises third-quarter revenue guidance; stock rips higher

September 30, 2026 4:29 PM

Investing.com -- Vicor Corporation (NASDAQ: VICR) shares climbed over 11% in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company raised its third-quarter 2026 revenue guidance.

The power component manufacturer increased its third-quarter sequential growth guidance from more than 20% to more than 30%, citing higher royalties from its first non-exclusive license for Vertical Power Delivery (VPD) technology.

The guidance update, announced on September 30, follows Vicor's September 17 announcement that it granted a non-exclusive license to a new AI OEM licensee. The license allows the OEM to procure VPD modules covered by Vicor patents from unlicensed suppliers.

VPD is an advanced power architecture that mounts current multipliers directly underneath high-performance processors. The technology is designed to eliminate power loss and maximize data center efficiency for AI applications.

Under Vicor's licensing practice, licensees can source VPD solutions from unlicensed global suppliers or directly from Vicor. The company said licensees purchasing VPD modules from Vicor may earn substantial discounts on licensing royalties for commodity VPD modules from unlicensed suppliers.

Vicor, headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, designs and manufactures modular power components and complete power systems based on patented technologies. The company's modules and power system technology are used in high-performance computing, industrial, transportation, aerospace and defense applications.

The company said its licensing practice provides OEMs and hyperscalers with multi-source flexibility, supply chain redundancy and scalability, including from U.S.-based Vicor manufacturing facilities.
