Healthcare Triangle signs non-binding MOU for humanoid nursing robots

Healthcare Triangle, Inc. (Nasdaq: HCTI) announced it has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with AI World Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian technology and robotics company, to establish a joint venture aimed at deploying AI-enabled humanoid nursing robots in hospitals across North America.

Under the proposed agreement, HCTI would hold a 70% ownership interest in the joint venture, with AI World holding the remaining 30%. HCTI would lead funding and handle sales and distribution, while AI World would provide technology transfer, manufacturing support, and ongoing engineering and software assistance.

The robots are designed to assist with patient toileting and hygiene care under the supervision of clinical staff. HCTI said it plans to leverage its network of more than 140 hospital relationships to bring the technology to market, pending required regulatory approvals and clinical validation.

According to Grand View Research, robotic nurse assistants represented approximately 39% of a global market estimated at $1.5 billion in 2025. That global market is projected to reach approximately $4.4 billion by 2033, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 14.7%.

"Hospitals are under intense pressure from staffing shortages and clinician burnout, and toileting and hygiene care is a heavy part of that workload," said Suresh Venkatachari, Founder of Healthcare Triangle. "Together with AI World, we intend to bring a practical, AI-enabled solution to the clinicians and patients we already serve."

The MOU is non-binding except for certain provisions covering exclusivity and confidentiality. Formation of the joint venture remains subject to due diligence, negotiation of definitive agreements, board approvals, and applicable regulatory clearances. The parties said they expect to negotiate definitive agreements over the coming months, but cautioned there is no assurance a final agreement will be reached or that the venture will be successfully commercialized.
