CJ 4DPLEX and Cinemark to add 20 ScreenX locations in the Americas
CJ 4DPLEX and Cinemark Holdings (NYSE: CNK) have agreed to add 20 new ScreenX auditoriums across Cinemark's global circuit, with 17 in the U.S. and three in South and Central America, according to a joint press release.
Six of the U.S. locations are scheduled to open in 2026, which would bring Cinemark's domestic ScreenX count to 30. The expansion also includes a location at Cinemark's Playa Vista theater in Los Angeles.
The partnership between the two companies began in 2022. Cinemark currently operates nearly 500 theaters and more than 5,500 screens across 42 U.S. states and 13 countries in South and Central America.

"We are pleased to expand our ScreenX footprint to additional Cinemark locations across the U.S. and Latin America as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the theatrical experience through innovative entertainment options," said Sean Gamble, Cinemark's President and CEO.
CJ 4DPLEX CEO Jun Bang said the company plans to release at least four films produced specifically for the ScreenX format with major Hollywood studios in 2027, following what he described as a positive response to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the first film produced under the "Shot for ScreenX" designation.
