CoreWeave to add Nvidia Vera CPU to its cloud compute portfolio
CoreWeave Inc. (Nasdaq: CRWV) announced it will add the Nvidia Vera CPU to its compute offerings, according to a company press release. The announcement was made at CoreWeave's AI cloud conference, Fully Connected, which the company said drew more than 4,500 attendees.
The Nvidia Vera CPU is positioned as a processor designed for agentic AI workloads, which rely heavily on CPU-intensive tasks such as isolated sandboxes, reinforcement learning environments, tool calls, code execution, and data pipelines. CoreWeave said the Vera CPU will run on its platform as bare metal, under the same consumption models applied to the rest of its fleet.
In a rack-scale configuration at CoreWeave, the Nvidia Vera CPU places 128 CPUs and 11,264 cores in a single rack, using BlueField-4 DPUs and Spectrum-X Ethernet switching. The company said this configuration supports more than 11,000 concurrent isolated agent environments.
CoreWeave said internal testing showed agent sandbox startup times on the Nvidia Vera CPU were more than three times faster compared to an x86 CPU.

"General-purpose infrastructure bottlenecks agentic AI; Vera is the first CPU explicitly designed to accelerate it," said Chen Goldberg, executive vice president of product and engineering at CoreWeave.
Ryan Shrout, president and general manager at Signal65, said in the release that a growing portion of each agent cycle consists of CPU work, and that the platform surrounding the hardware determines whether teams can effectively use that capacity.
CoreWeave was founded in 2017 and completed its public listing on Nasdaq in March 2025.
