Princess Cruises launches a native cruise planning app in ChatGPT

September 28, 2026 10:02 AM

Princess Cruises has launched a native app within ChatGPT, allowing travelers to search, compare and plan cruises using conversational language directly inside the AI platform, according to a company statement.

The app connects ChatGPT to Princess Cruises' website in real time, enabling users to browse more than 330 destinations across 17 ships, check pricing and availability, and explore itineraries, shore excursions and onboard packages. Users access the tool by tagging @princesscruises after installing the app through ChatGPT's plugin directory.

Princess Cruises is claiming to be the first global cruise line to launch such an app within a large language model platform. The company said it intends to expand the app to additional AI platforms in the future, subject to platform availability and technical requirements.

"There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to find information, but to help evaluate choices and plan increasingly complex trips," said Neena Vicente, Princess Cruises Vice President of Digital Commerce and Experience.

Rosemary DeAragon, Head of Technology and Consumer Industries at OpenAI, said the integration shows "how AI platforms and travel brands can work together to make planning more seamless, useful and conversational."

Princess Cruises is part of Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL).
