MongoDB, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDB) announced that Chirantan "CJ" Desai has stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, to take a senior role at Meta Platforms, Inc.

The company's board has appointed Dev Ittycheria as interim President and CEO. Ittycheria previously held the same role from 2014 to 2025. During that period, MongoDB's annual revenue grew from approximately $35 million to more than $2.3 billion.

"MongoDB's business is strong, and there is no better person to take on the role of President and CEO in the interim than Dev Ittycheria," said Tom Killalea, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The board has retained an executive search firm to identify a permanent CEO candidate.

MongoDB reaffirmed its financial guidance for the third quarter and full fiscal year 2027, as previously provided on September 1, 2026.

The company also announced it will host an Investor Day at Nasdaq MarketSite on September 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. ET.
