Cognition AI hits $1 billion run rate amid demand for coding software - Bloomberg
Investing.com -- Cognition AI Inc. is on track to hit $1 billion in annualized revenue based on its performance this month, according to a report from Bloomberg, marking a swift doubling of the artificial intelligence startup’s sales run rate in roughly four months. The sharp acceleration underscores accelerating demand for the company's flagship Devin platform, an autonomous tool designed to streamline software development and debugging for commercial enterprise clients.
Investor appetite for automated coding tools has intensified alongside a wave of mega-consolidations across the artificial intelligence landscape. Capital allocation toward the sector gained notable momentum earlier this year following SpaceX’s $60 billion acquisition of rival coding platform Cursor, a transaction that closed in August after Bloomberg reported initial talks.
The aerospace giant also previously approached Cognition regarding a potential buyout, highlighting the strategic value large-scale technology entities are placing on automated engineering infrastructure. Against that backdrop of heightened acquirer interest, Cognition opted to remain independent, securing fresh venture capital to solidify its balance sheet.
Earlier this month, the startup finalized a $2 billion funding round that vaulted its valuation to $48 billion, nearly doubling its $26 billion capital benchmark set just three months prior. The rapid capital appreciation positions Cognition as one of the most highly valued private software startups in the market, providing substantial runway to expand its enterprise market share.
