Stifel reports August 2026 client assets and revenue outlook

September 24, 2026 4:25 PM

Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF) released selected operating data for the period ending August 31, 2026, showing total client assets of $587.6 billion, up 10% from $532.7 billion a year earlier and up 2% from July 31, 2026. The figures are based on a press release statement from the St. Louis-based firm.

Fee-based client assets rose 14% year over year to $244.4 billion, while Private Client Group fee-based client assets increased 15% to $214.2 billion. Excluding assets from the Stifel Independent Advisors business, which was sold on February 2, 2026, total client assets and fee-based client assets rose 12% and 17%, respectively, year over year.

Treasury deposits reached $12.3 billion as of August 31, 2026, up 61% from $7.6 billion a year earlier and up 7% from the prior month. Client money market and insured product balances declined 8% year over year and 3% month over month to $23.4 billion. Bank loans, net, rose 18% year over year to $25.6 billion.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ronald J. Kruszewski said firm-wide net revenue for the third quarter is expected to be "essentially flat" with the third quarter of 2025, as growth in the Global Wealth Management segment is anticipated to offset a roughly 15% decline in the Institutional Group. Kruszewski attributed the expected institutional decline primarily to lower transactional revenue and a modest reduction in investment banking revenue.

Stifel noted that the limited nature of the monthly data means a consistent correlation to earnings should not be assumed.
