T-Mobile launches AI AutoPilot and expands Dynamic CX nationwide
T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) is launching new AI-powered AutoPilot capabilities and expanding its Dynamic CX technology nationwide, the company announced during National Preparedness Month.
AutoPilot is built into T-Mobile's Self-Organizing Network (SON) and uses intent-based AI automation to make real-time network adjustments. According to the company, recent testing showed AutoPilot can make those adjustments in about half the time compared to previous capabilities. If a cell site goes down, AutoPilot can determine how nearby sites should adjust to help close coverage gaps while engineers address the underlying issue.
Dynamic CX uses AI to anticipate demand ahead of major events and automatically optimize network performance. T-Mobile says it has now expanded Dynamic CX to cover the entire country, after earlier deployments at events including an international soccer championship and Lollapalooza.
T-Mobile cited Winter Storm Fern as a demonstration of SON's capabilities, stating the technology helped keep network sites online for more than 250,000 additional minutes across more than 30 states. The company also made more than 30,000 antenna adjustments during the storm, and said 68% of customers who lost coverage had it restored within one hour, with 98% restored within eight hours.

On the physical infrastructure side, T-Mobile said hybrid generators can help network sites stay operational up to 50% longer during extended power outages. The company has also integrated telemetry into backup-power solutions to give teams real-time visibility into site conditions.
"The next era of network resilience is about building a network that can think, adapt and act faster in the moments that matter," said John Saw, Chief Technology Officer at T-Mobile.
T-Mobile also reported that during Hurricane Lala and Tropical Storm Moke, satellite connectivity supported 144,000 messages across Hawaii. The company said it supported preparedness and response for nearly 200 incidents and planned events in 2026, coordinating with agencies including FEMA and CISA.
