Descartes launches AI agent for global trade data analysis
Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq: DSGX) announced the Descartes Datamyne AI Agent, a conversational AI tool embedded in its Datamyne global trade intelligence platform, according to a company press release dated Sept. 24, 2026.
The company says the tool can reduce trade data research and analysis time by up to 90%, depending on the user's experience and the complexity of the query. The AI Agent allows users to submit questions in natural language and returns answers supported by data visualizations and underlying shipment records.
Descartes Datamyne covers 230 markets and adds more than 500 million shipment records annually. The AI Agent draws on this dataset to help users identify suppliers, monitor competitors, evaluate trade risks and track shifting product flows.
"Geopolitical disruption, tariff volatility and shifting sourcing patterns are making trade decisions more complex and time-sensitive," said Brian Hodgson, General Manager of Trade Intelligence at Descartes. "Users move quickly from a business question to validated insights on trends, risks and opportunities while retaining visibility into the records behind the analysis."
Ken Wood, EVP of Product Management at Descartes, said the agent presents findings alongside supporting records and visual evidence, allowing users to verify conclusions and refine queries without leaving the platform.
The tool is designed to allow users to ask complex trade questions without building filters or using database query structures, and to access drill-down views of the shipment records behind any AI-generated finding.
