Swarmer signs MOU with Vectus for mobile air defense systems

September 23, 2026 5:58 PM

Swarmer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWMR) has signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding with Vectus Air Defense Systems to manufacture, sell, and deploy end-to-end mobile air defense systems, according to a press release issued Sept. 23, 2026.

Swarmer holds a 20% interest in Vectus. Under the agreement, Vectus has confirmed its intent to purchase at least 40 Swarmer-built systems in year one and 80 or more in year two following the start of production. Swarmer plans to establish an air defense manufacturing facility in Poland.

Alex Fink, Swarmer's U.S. CEO and president, said the planned systems would include radars, cameras, fire control, and effectors targeting threats such as jet-powered Shahed-type attack drones. "The systems use combat-proven Gatling-type rotary cannons, capable of firing 20mm rounds at a rate of up to 6,000 rounds per minute, as the last line of defense," Fink said.

Fink estimated each system would retail at approximately $5 million to $6 million. The press release noted that 20mm ammunition is relatively inexpensive compared with precision-guided missiles, which the company said could reduce cost per intercept.

Erik Prince, who serves as both Vectus CEO and Swarmer board chairman, said the systems are "portable, affordable and designed to destroy targets on impact."

Final quantities, pricing, financing, specifications, and delivery schedules remain subject to definitive agreements. The MOU is nonbinding and may not result in binding purchase orders.
