Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI) has entered into a distribution agreement with CommsPlus Distribution, an Australia-based value-added distributor, to sell Vuzix smart glasses across Australia, New Zealand and selected Pacific markets, according to a company press release.

As part of the agreement, Vuzix has already received and shipped against an initial six-figure smart glasses order. CommsPlus will distribute the Vuzix M400 and LX1 smart glasses under a Value-Added Distributor model that includes partner recruitment, technical enablement, solution development and proof-of-concept programs.

CommsPlus plans to recruit software developers, systems integrators and AI solution providers to pair Vuzix hardware with industry-specific applications. Target sectors include mining and resources, logistics, healthcare and telehealth, utilities, field services, manufacturing and electrical contracting. The partnership will also explore government and defense opportunities.

"This partnership represents an exciting opportunity for CommsPlus to help accelerate enterprise XR adoption throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific," said Paul Bailye, Group MD of CommsPlus Distribution.

Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, said the company is "excited to work with CommsPlus to establish Vuzix as the leading enterprise smart glasses platform across Australia and New Zealand," citing CommsPlus's reseller network and enterprise communications expertise.

Vuzix, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Rochester, New York, designs and manufactures smart glasses and waveguide components for enterprise, medical, defense and consumer markets.
