Velo3D names two executives to lead technology and operations
Velo3D, Inc. (Nasdaq: VELO), a metal 3D printing company, has appointed Vic Fryzel as Executive Vice President of Technology and Robert Purnell as Senior Director of Operations, according to a company statement.
Fryzel brings more than 20 years of experience in hardware and software systems, with prior roles at Carbon, Meta, Lyft, and Google. At Velo3D, he will oversee the technology roadmap covering hardware, software, materials, automation, process engineering, data, and artificial intelligence.
Purnell has a background in aerospace and semiconductor manufacturing, with previous positions at Boeing Co., FormFactor Inc., and SpaceX's Starlink division, along with service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He will lead teams and operating systems at Forge 1, Velo3D's production campus in Livermore, California, with responsibility for safety, quality, and delivery performance.

"Expanding capacity is only part of our strategy. We also need the technology and operating discipline to turn that capacity into dependable customer delivery," said Arun Jeldi, CEO of Velo3D.
Both appointments are connected to operations at Forge 1 and support Velo3D's Rapid Production Solutions offering, which gives customers access to production capabilities without requiring them to establish their own printer operations.
