Protolabs robotics revenue more than doubles in first half of 2026
Protolabs (NYSE: PRLB), a Minneapolis-based digital manufacturing services company, reported that revenue from its robotics customers more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, according to a company statement.
The company attributed the growth to demand for rapid prototyping and low-volume production parts used in robotic systems, including grippers, sensor enclosures, motor mounts, and structural components. Protolabs offers parts through CNC machining, 3D printing, and other processes, with turnaround times as fast as one day.
Protolabs serves robotics customers through its owned U.S.-based factories and through Protolabs Network, a group of vetted third-party manufacturing partners. The company says it applies cybersecurity measures including encryption, access controls, and system hardening to protect customer intellectual property across both channels.
"Protolabs' expanding role in robotics development is a testament to how our capabilities and manufacturing expertise compress product development timelines for industry leaders," said Suresh Krishna, President and CEO of Protolabs.
According to data cited by Protolabs from Mordor Intelligence, the global robotics market is estimated at $88 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $219 billion by 2031, representing a 20% compound annual growth rate.
Protolabs is scheduled to exhibit at RoboBusiness 2026, taking place Oct. 20–21 in Santa Clara, Calif., at booth #411.
