UiPath launches Cartographer to map enterprise process knowledge
UiPath, Inc. (NYSE: PATH) announced the launch of UiPath Cartographer, a product designed to capture and organize how enterprise processes actually operate, replacing documentation methods such as interviews, slide decks, and spreadsheets.
According to the company, UiPath Cartographer builds what it calls a "Map of Work," a governed record of a given business process that includes its rules, exceptions, and decision points. The product is intended for business analysts and is designed to synthesize context from documents, steps, and rules that typically exist across multiple systems and formats.
The product includes three starting options: prebuilt maps for common industry processes such as loan origination, healthcare claims review, and source-to-pay; a Process Atlas library containing maps of complex processes grounded in domain knowledge; and a custom build option for organizations with proprietary workflows.

UiPath Cartographer integrates with UiPath Maestro, the company's orchestration tool, and includes a Decision Ledger that records decisions made during a process and feeds them back into the Map of Work as updated rules or operating knowledge.
"For years, businesses have digitized their data without ever capturing the enterprise context of how that data is actually put to work," said Daniel Dines, Founder and CEO of UiPath. "UiPath Cartographer is the key to uncovering the operational knowledge of how that work actually runs, with every exception and every judgment call included."
The product runs on the UiPath Platform and inherits its existing identity, security, and governance controls. UiPath Cartographer is available now, according to the company's statement.
