Sharon AI and VAST Data partner on confidential AI platform in Asia-Pacific
SharonAI Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SHAZ) announced a collaboration with VAST Data to offer VAST DataEnclave as part of Sharon AI's AI Factory platform across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, according to a company press release dated Sept. 23, 2026.
VAST DataEnclave is described as a confidential AI capability within the VAST DataEngine platform. It is designed to allow organizations to run AI models on customer-controlled, onshore infrastructure — including fully air-gapped environments — without data or model weights leaving that infrastructure.
The capability uses hardware-isolated secure runtimes, cryptographic attestation, and confidential virtual machines built on CPU-level trusted execution environments, with Nvidia GPUs operating in Confidential Compute mode. Guest memory, GPU memory, and interconnect traffic are encrypted throughout processing.
Customers and model builders retain independent control of their encryption keys through Bring Your Own KMS integrations. Attestation events, key releases, and enclave lifecycle actions are recorded in an audit trail.

James Manning, co-founder and chief executive of Sharon AI, said the arrangement is expected to allow customers to "host those models onshore, inside attested environments where the model owner's weights and the customer's data are both protected from everyone, including us."
Sunil Chavan, vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan at VAST Data, said the collaboration may expand what is possible for customers in the region seeking access to AI models while retaining control of their intellectual property.
Sharon AI described the target customers as banks, government agencies, and other regulated organizations for which cloud-hosted AI services are not an option due to data sovereignty requirements.
