September 22, 2026 10:00 AM

Optimum Communications (NYSE: OPTU) announced a $14 million investment to deploy a fiber-to-the-home network in East Brunswick and South River, New Jersey, with service expected to begin by early 2027.

The expansion will offer symmetrical internet speeds of up to 8 Gbps to residential and business customers in both communities. Optimum Mobile services are already available to customers in both markets.

Elton Hart, Vice President and General Manager of Optimum Tri-State, said the company is "committed to empowering our communities by investing in state-of-the-art connectivity and supporting schools, local businesses, and organizations that shape each neighborhood."

The $14 million investment follows a $40 million network expansion Optimum announced in 2025 to bring fiber services to communities including Woodbridge, Clark, Linden, and Carteret, New Jersey. The company currently serves nearly 300 communities across the state.

According to the press release, Optimum participates in programs with organizations including DonorsChoose, FIRST, and local Boys & Girls Clubs to support education and STEM learning in the areas it serves.

Optimum Communications provides broadband, video, mobile, and advertising services to approximately 4.2 million residential and business customers across 21 states.
